"Restore Liberty in My Lifetime?"
"We in the liberty movement all talk about 'restoring rightful
liberty' whatever that means to the folks talking about it. Many of us
call ourselves three percenters, alluding to the three percent of the
patriots who fought for liberty during the revolutionary war.
"Let’s look at the numbers. In 1776 the colonies numbered some 2.4 million people with about 80% English/Irish/Scottish/Welsh descent, 9% German and 4% Dutch. About 90% were farmers. Some 200,000 were slaves from Africa.
"Historians suggest that 40-45% of the colonists were Patriots. 15-20% were Loyalists. 35-45% never chose a side.
"Some 250,000 men fought for the Patriots, but never more than 90,000 served at any one time. Some 25,000 men of the Loyalists fought for the British. Another 5000 black slaves fought for the Patriots. The three percent is the total ever fighting at once of the entire population of the colonies. The total that took up arms is a little more than 10%.
"What motivated folks to be on one side or the other?
"For the Patriots, the initial rally to arms was impressive in 1775. As the war dragged on, enthusiasm waned. Many colonies were compelled to entice soldiers with offers of cash bounties, clothing, blankets and enlistments shorter than the one year term of service established by Congress. The following year, Congress mandated three year enlistments and offers of cash and land bounties became an absolute necessity.
"Longer enlistments radically changed the composition of the Army. Washington’s troops in 1775-76 had represented a cross section of the free male population. But few who owned farms were willing to serve for the duration, fearing loss of their property if years passed without producing revenue from which to pay taxes. After 1777, the average Continental soldier was young, single, propertyless, poor and in many cases an outright pauper. In some states, such as Pennsylvania, up to one in four soldiers was an impoverished recent immigrant. Patriotism aside, cash and land bounties offered an unprecedented chance for economic mobility for these men.
"The average Patriot was poor and many were motivated by the writings of Thomas Paine and others like him who suggested an equality of opportunity in a new country.
"The typical Loyalist was a little wealthier and was more settled in their ways. They owned shops and businesses. They were leaders and respected in their communities. Most of them left America at the end of the war.
"This is a very long lead into this post, but the background is needed when we talk about today. 75 to 80% of the colonists weren’t against the Patriots. Think about that for a second. Three to ten percent actually took up arms against the British.
"The Patriots were motivated by equality, economic mobility and freedom of religion.
"What percentage of Americans are motivated by these three things today? We read daily of regular folks begging the government to take their rights away under the notion that we 'might' be safer. The number of folks that really want equality of opportunity is almost none. Attacks on economic mobility occur from every side of the political spectrum. Freedom of religion? Americans are embracing religion at a smaller number every year it seems.
"So, what are we restoring? How many Americans even recognize these motivations enough to even want them?
"Americans fit far more into the Loyalist camp these days than the Patriot camp. They are happy with what they have and want a government to protect what they have. If by some magic stroke all of the .gov folks that work to oppress us, stopped doing what they do today, Americans would replace them tomorrow. They would be mad at whoever wielded the magic stroke.
"All the groups like the NRA that ostensibly are there to protect our rights are very pragmatic at best and not lovers of overall liberty at worst. The Tea Party in its heyday wasn’t against large government, merely against large government budgets. The old 'Contract With America' that got Newt Gingrich and crew elected promised to eliminate 95 major programs. In reality, the combined budgets of these programs increased by 13%. Congressmen complain that 'due process is overrated and needs to be looked at again'. When offered more 'safety and security' Americans are begging to have their rights taken away without even a whimper.
"I’m depressed enough right now in realizing that there is no restoration of liberty possible. Even if we are optimistic and think we really have three percent of Americans on our side, 97% are on the other side. Using that same magic stroke, if we three percenters were suddenly in charge, we would be run out of town for promoting evil things. We can’t beat our foes with force.
"I am optimistic enough though to realize that our liberty is not to be found by looking backwards. We didn’t get in this mess since Obama got elected. It might take a generation or two or three to fix it. We’ve got to look at the next 50 years and see how it can be made better.
"More to follow in future posts."

Happy St. John's Day!
While growing up, every June 24th my mother would wish me a "Happy
Namesday." She told me this holiday was a big deal in Latvia (and most
of northern Europe, as it turns out).
From Wikipedia:
"Midsummer"
"Midsummer, also known as St John's Day, is the period of time centred upon the summer solstice, and more specifically the Northern European celebrations that accompany the actual solstice or take place on a day between June 19 and June 25 and the preceding evening. The exact dates vary between different cultures. The Christian Church designated June 24 as the feast day of the early Christian martyr St John the Baptist, and the observance of St John's Day begins the evening before, known as St John's Eve.
"These are commemorated by many Christian denominations.[1] In Sweden the Midsummer is such an important festivity that there have been serious discussions to make the Midsummer's Eve into the National Day of Sweden, instead of June 6. It may also be referred to as St. Hans Day.[2]
. . . . .
"Latvia"
"Main article: Jāņi
"In Latvia, Midsummer is called Jāņi (plural of Latvian name Jānis, which is equivalent to John) or Līgo svētki (svētki = festival). It is a national holiday celebrated from the night of June 23 through June 24 on a large scale by almost everyone in Latvia and by people of Latvian origin abroad. Celebrations consist of a lot of traditional and mostly pagan elements – eating, Jāņi cheese, drinking beer, baking pīrāgi, singing Latvian folk songs dedicated to Jāņi, burning bonfires to keep light all through the night and jumping over it, wearing wreaths of flowers (for women) and oak leaves (for men) together with modern commercial products and ideas. There are tens and hundreds of different beliefs and traditions all over Latvia on what should be done on that day for good harvest, for predicting the future, for attracting your future spouse etc. People decorate their houses and lands with birch or sometimes oak branches and flowers as well as leaves, especially fern. In rural areas livestock is also decorated. In modern days small oak branches with leaves are attached to the cars in Latvia during the festivity. Jāņi has been a strong aspect of Latvian culture throughout history, originating in pre-Christian Latvia as an ancient fertility cult.
"In the western town of Kuldīga, revellers mark the holiday by running naked through the town at three in the morning. The event has taken place since 2000. Runners are rewarded with beer, and police are on hand in case any 'puritans' attempt to interfere with the naked run.[22]"

"Gaslighting"
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:
"Gaslighting or gas-lighting is a form of mental abuse in which a victim is manipulated into doubting their own memory, perception, and sanity.[1][2] Instances may range from the denial by an abuser that previous abusive incidents ever occurred, up to the staging of bizarre events by the abuser with the intention of disorienting the victim.
"The term owes its origin to the 1938 play Gas Light and its film adaptations. The term has been used in clinical and research literature.[3][4]"

"IT’S OFFICIAL!! EVERYTHING RACINE MAYOR JOHN DICKERT TOUCHES, TURNS TO SHIT!"
From Racine Community Media:
"RACINE RESIDENTS TO SEE MILLIONS OF GALLONS OF WAUKESHA SHIT WATER FLOWING INTO RACINE’S ROOT RIVER.
"Thanks to Racine Mayor John Dickert, Waukesha will divert an average of 8.2 million gallons of Lake Michigan water per day and return treated wastewater to the lake via the Root River.
"Under the plan, Waukesha would buy Lake Michigan water from Oak Creek, and build new infrastructure to pipe it west. Waukesha would treat and clean the water after it is used, and deposit it in the Root River, where it will flow back into Lake Michigan through the city of Racine.
"Mayor John Dickert said, 'it’s my job to protect the citizens of Racine.' he also asked if Waukesha residents would be willing to swim outside its treatment plant where wastewater will be discharged.

"St. Catherine's legendary coach Bob Letsch retires" - http://journaltimes.com/sports/high-school/st-catherine-s-legendary-coach-bob-letsch-retires/article_2a5163ab-60e7-54ed-81d9-9d77602e5027.html
When I went to St. Catherine's High School, freshmen and sophomores were required to take Physical Education (gym class). I can't remember if this happened my first or second year of PE, but it happened. I didn't have Bob Letsch as a regular PE instructor for either year. However, one day I showed up to gym class and there he was, filling in for whoever was our regular coach.
He was relatively new on the job back then. Coach John McGuire had his legendary career going. Letsch is a graduate of St. Catherine's and that's where he returned to work after getting his degree.
Anyway, so Letsch is filling in as coach and he tells us were going to play kickball. Three representatives from each side surrounded the big "C" in the center of the baketball court and Letsch would walk around the outside, suddenly throwing the ball into the circle and causing all hell to break loose. A lot of kids got bruised shins that day. But what I remember about Letsch the most, what I'll always remember, is watching him walk around a group of guys surrounding the "C" and suddenly he jammed the ball up the back of one kid's shirt. Everyone started kicking at the kid. I was horrified. The kid was down on the gym floor, trying to protect his head as other kids kicked at his back and guts. Finally, the ball sprang loose.
"Legendary," indeed.

"The long arm of the blog vs. the long arm of the law"
From Racine County Corruption:

Can the power of a single blog 300 miles away sway a general election?
We think so!
Consider this, we have been blogging
about the corrupt Michael Nieskes for almost five years and he has yet
to challenge our writings.
We subpoenaed him
into court numerous times to impeach his testimony, only to have this
coward never utter a word in court about his abuse of power or discuss
the filing of his false affidavit into court records.
So why do we write about Nieskes again?
It has been brought to the
attention of RCC by fine people in St. Croix County that the infamous former Racine County District Attorney Michael Nieskes is
again running for public office, but this time 300 hundred miles away in you guessed it, St.
Croix County.
Yes, this is the same
Michael Nieskes that was run out of town by the voters of Racine County for his
errors, acts, omissions, abuse of power and the filing of a false affidavit
into court records.
Yes this is the same corrupt
Michael Nieskes that under the watchful eye of Judge Ptacek committed many of
his offenses and then BEAT IT to Hudson
Wi.
You may read more about Michael
Nieskes BEATING IT here:
So acting out of the
graces of Pro bono politico and Pro bono publico spirit, we will enlighten the
St. Croix residents of the past award bestowed upon Michael Nieskes.
Michael Nieskes was the
first recipient of “Today’s D.A.”
“Dirty Rat Award” You may read about it here: http://nationaldistrictattorneywallofshame.blogspot.com/
Despite the filing of a
100 plus page criminal complaint to the Wis. Attorney General’s office, Nieskes
was named Judge in 2011 by Governor Scott Walker. The voting public kicked him
out of office 4 months later in the general elections. Over 1,700 plus Republicans
agreed to remove Nieskes and voted to remove the corrupt ass out of office.
In the matters of his record
in office in Racine County, the abuses of power, court records tampering, court
date tampering and the filing of a false affidavit into court records, that is
all part of Racine County Circuit Court records.
In court testimony, Mike Nieskes's ADA
acknowledged the tampering of court records, but did not provide the identity of
the government perpetrator of the crimes.
You can guess who it was!
It is all a matter of court
record, you may review the online court record here:
As you read the online entries,
you will notice the case was dismissed with prejudice, as the succeeding
District Attorney requested the court to do so.
YOU READ IT RIGHT, THE
SUCCEEDING D.A. REQUESTED THE COURT TO DISMISS THE CASE WITH PREJUDICE !
Nieskes is such a low life and was so obsessed by this case, he put
at risk the law license of one of his subordinate ADA’s.
The above case illuminated
Michael Nieskes as a corrupt, dirty, manipulative prosecutor who abused his
power.
St. Croix residents, hear what your friends are telling you from 300 miles away, tell Michael Nieskes to:
BEAT IT

I went to the auto parts store...
Earlier this evening, I checked the oil on my truck and it was low. I drove to the nearby auto parts store. When I got there, I pulled to open the door, but it was locked. I checked their operating hours and they close at 6 PM on Sunday. It was about 6:05. As I did this, another car pulled up. I said to the guy, "They're closed." He said, "I can see that, asshole," and he drove off.
Right away I thought, "Who told him? Word must be getting around." I went to a gas-station-minute-mart and got my oil there. The clerk there thanked me for my purchase and didn't call me an asshole. She just hasn't caught on yet.

Charlie's New Clubhouse
The flap on right is for entry/exit. This is the box Chalie's 7 ft. cat tree came in. It's 24" x 28", and 15" tall. And, no, the vacuum cleaner hasn't made it this far yet. I swear the carpet is 1/2 cat hair.
"Police: Man Used Stick to Hit Child Because Their Shoes Came Untied"
From Racine County Eye:
By Heather Asiyanbi in Police and fire · June 17, 2016 · No comments
"Racine police say a 31-year-old man is facing a felony child abuse charge because he beat a 5-year-old child with a stick when the child’s shoes kept coming untied.
"Kevin
Mayfield, of Racine, was charged Thursday in Racine County Circuit
Court with one felony count of physical abuse of a child. If convicted,
he faces up to 40 years in prison and/or up to $100,000 in fines.
"According the criminal complaint, officers were called Wednesday to a local child care center for a report of possible child abuse. When police arrived, they spoke to a 5-year-old child who said Mayfield 'whooped' them with a stick because their shoes kept coming untied.
"Officers say the child had visible welts measuring up to 5-inches long and some as an inch wide on their hands, arms, back, and buttocks. The abuse is suspected to have occurred on or about June 14 at the child’s home.
"Mayfield remains in the Racine County Jail on a $2,000 cash bond as well as a $3,000 signature bond and is ordered to not have any contact with the child or with any minor children. He was also ordered to surrender a sample of his DNA. Mayfield will next be in court June 23 for his preliminary hearing."
What a tough guy.

"Police shoot armed man in Burger King parking lot"
Published on May 31, 2016
"Clinton,
North Carolina - A quarter of the Clinton police force is on
administrative leave after an armed man was shot early Sunday in a
Burger King parking lot, officials said.
"John Mark Coffey, 53, of Warsaw, was identified Monday as the man who police say pointed a shotgun at officers from a pickup truck in the parking lot, police said.
"Clinton Police also identified the seven officers and an N.C. Trooper who would be placed on administrative leave, along with their time on the force. There are 28 officers on the Clinton Police force.
"On Monday, neighbors of Coffey, who lived about 15 miles east of Clinton, said they were surprised by the deadly shooting.

"On Monday, neighbors of Coffey, who lived about 15 miles east of Clinton, said they were surprised by the deadly shooting.
"'It’s
shocking. Very, very shocking. He was quiet. I thought he was quiet and
kept to himself,' said Brenda Murphy, who added that Coffey did come to
her home and introduce himself when he first moved in.
"Another neighbor said that Coffey was often seen in the neighborhood with his dogs.
“He was the type that didn’t bother nobody. He’d come out and walk his dogs,” said neighbor Donald Darden.
"The police department also revealed more details about the incident, which began at 12:01 a.m. Sunday when two officers arrived at the business after a 911 call.
"Shortly after arriving on the scene, one of the officers called by radio stating that the man had a shotgun, police said in a statement.
"As the two officers backed away from Coffey, they took cover and started negotiating with him. Six more Clinton Police officers and one NC State Highway Patrol trooper responded and cordoned off the parking lot.
"A Clinton Police Department commander was on scene overseeing the event.
"'Officers attempted to negotiate for approximately 20 minutes with the male subject to put the weapon down and surrender,' the Clinton Police said.
"'During this time, the commander coordinated with officers on the scene and the E911 (operator) to ensure the safety of citizens at a nearby home and at the Burger King,' police added.
"The commander also asked for an EMS unit to come the scene.
"During the police attempts to negotiate, Coffey told officers that he had five rounds and 'was not coming out of the vehicle,' police said.
"Coffey was unresponsive and would not comply with their requests to put the shotgun down, according to the police statement.
"At approximately 12:18 a.m. Coffey opened the driver’s door of the white pickup truck and pointed a weapon at the officers, police said.

"The N.C. State Bureau of Investigation was called to investigate the shooting, which is the Clinton Police Department’s policy. The results of this investigation will be turned over to the District Attorney.
"The Internal Affairs Unit with the Clinton Police Department is conducting an Administrative Investigation into the shooting.
"The Clinton Police Department has both in-car video and body worn camera systems. During this incident there were five body cameras and four in-car video cameras recording the officers’ response, police said.
“The systems were activated at the time of the officers’ arrival and continued recording throughout the event, to include the shooting,” the police said. The videos are being turned over to the SBI as part of their investigation.

Run, Rich, run!
"City of Racine Residents Are Stunned To Discover That 2016 Property Tax Rates Under Mayor John Dickert Exceed Those of City of Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel by Almost Double!"
From News The JT Can't Use:
by Paul Revere
"While the news media has been quick to report on the massive property
tax increases enacted by City of Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, they have
failed to point out that those large increases bring the total property
tax rate to only about HALF of what many Cities in South East Wisconsin
charge. Is it any wonder that the productive People of Illinois aren’t
flocking to residential properties in Racine and SE Wisconsin? An entire
region of Wisconsin’s Rust Belt which is quickly morphing into Detroit
West with corrupt and criminal politicians who are looting the tax
base, levying outrageously high property taxes, suffering from high
rates of crime (which is often under-reported), curtailed services and
large sections of failing infrastructure populated by illegal
immigrants, the unemployed, those who depend upon public assistance, and
recent Third World EB-5 Immigrants."

Charlie's Latest Gift
I paid back the money to an old internet friend that she had lent me over the years. Her delightful response?
In the last shot, on the far right, is the cat tree I bought Chalie recently. As I was doing so, my friend was doing the same. So Charlie ended up with two new cat trees. Yay. The one on the right is on a table and is only four feet tall. It came assembled with everything except the top perch had to be attached.
The one from my friend took almost four hours to assemble (1 hour work, 3 hours swearing). It's seven feet tall and Charlie can easily reach the ceiling from the top perch. He and I are very happy with this gift. Thank you, Ms. N.

"Former Employee Accuses Wahlen of Intimidation, Wrongful Termination"
From Racine County Eye:
By Heather Asiyanbi in Government · June 13, 2016 · No comments
"Former Mount Pleasant Payroll Coordinator Jillian Schumacher Monday in public comments before the village board accused Village Administrator Kurt Wahlen of firing her for being a whistleblower.
"Schumacher said she was fired unfairly and without any prior warning because she questioned financial processes that didn’t align with the personnel handbook or standard practices.
"'In short, I believe I was terminated for being a whistleblower and not blindly following policies I felt were unprofessional,' she continued.
"Specifically, Schumacher claims Wahlen fired her just four months after she had a positive review during which she was awarded another week of vacation and told she was on track to receive a raise. Schumacher worked for Mount Pleasant for 13 months.
"'In January of 2016 my vacation was increased to 3 weeks and I was on schedule for a raise. I had received no verbal or written warnings and no suspensions as outlined in the discipline section of the personnel manual. I had every reason to believe I was a competent and valued employee,' her comments to trustees read.
"But, last month, Schumacher told the board that Wahlen called her into his office and asked if she wanted to quit or be terminated. She elected termination and said she believes Wahlen fired her because:
"Board members were clearly surprised by Schumacher’s comments. After the meeting, Village President Jerry Garski said he takes the allegations seriously.
"'This was surprising … it’s the first we’ve heard of these issues, and we will look into them,' he said after the board meeting.
"He did not offer any additional comment.
"Wahlen was not at the meeting because he is on vacation this week. Racine County Eye did send him an email to his village email address and will update this story if we reach him for comment. His contract with the village expired on May 13, and negotiations for a new one have not begun, according to sources close to the village.

- Pay for staff is arbitrary negotiated by the Village Administrator on a personal basis rather than as a uniform employee policy. Pay for similar positions vary without regard to experience or job description.
- Raises are arbitrarily awarded or withheld and do not follow village personnel handbook guidelines.
- Some salaried staff are allotted comp. time while others are not. The result is that some staff are paid when absent and others have to use vacation time.
- Village fees were waived by staff for certain residents but charged to others – without oversight or board approval.
- Fees and bills were not routinely deposited and at times were allowed to collect in a box if staff was absent. In early 2016, during property tax season, as much as $2 million dollars or more sat in the village office without deposit – vulnerable to fraud or neglect.
- Two village employees – Jo Gleason and Dianne Flannery – were paid well over the $8.57/hour wage for poll workers on election day; Gleason was allotted her regular rate of nearly $18/hour.
"Board members were clearly surprised by Schumacher’s comments. After the meeting, Village President Jerry Garski said he takes the allegations seriously.
