"Some are now saying close friend and campaign supporter of Mayor John
Dickert, Kimberly Kane, has already been chosen by Dickert to replace
Sarrazin. Is this how elections are supposed to work? Are not the people
supposed to elect their elected officials, or at least have a say in
who their Alderman will be? Not in Racine.
"Kane was appointed to
the Racine Cable Commission by Mayor Dickert and according to City
Administrator Tom Friedel, she recently sent a letter of resignation
resigning herself from the city commission.
"It would appear to be a
conflict of interest for Kane, as a campaign supporter and contributor
to Mayor Dickert and his campaign, to now being appointed an elected
"Kimberly Kane as a city official, also played a major
role in destroying the Racine Community Access channel CAR25 for the
residents back in 2013. More details to come."
